The foundation of WOPA’s core values stand firmly on the belief in the rights and values outlined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Convention on the Elimination of All Discrimination Against Women. These human rights instruments assert that “women and children’s rights are human rights” and recognize the essential dignity and inherent rights of every person.
We believe that providing an enabling platform that promotes the empowerment of women and children is one of the most effective mitigations to achieving gender equality and protecting women and children from all forms of violation. WOPA is committed to creating a safe space for women and children by honoring their dignity, strengths, insights and creativity.
At WOPA, we strive to honour the following values at all times as we work to build an ideal world for women and children:
Empowerment: Every woman and child are exceptional and powerful in their own way. Our women and children are our greatest strength and we support them to achieve our aims by providing them with the information and resources needed to help them grow, know their rights and become decision makers. we motivate them to transcend all the limits of traditional and social boundaries imposed on them by the society while exploring goals that exposes them to greater possibilities.
Respect: Every woman and child have the right to fairness and dignity. We instill these qualities in the women and children we work for and with.
Equally, we hold each other responsible and accountable at all levels of the organization for the outcomes of our actions especially when dealing with our partners and beneficiaries.
Integrity: We will never communicate in any way that exploits or demeans the women and children we exist to serve. We deliver series of program activities that maximizes the impact for the women and children we serve bringing them the biggest benefits which facilitate an effective yet long term positive change in their lives. We do what we say we are going to do, when we say we’re going to do it and how we say we are going to do it.
Organizational health and our global community: We strive to improve our ability to achieve our mission by enhancing our own capacity and ensuring a strong financial future. We also believe that as part of the global community, our actions in helping women and children move closer to achieving their full human rights will have a ripple effect, benefiting women and children everywhere.
Women Pathfinder as the name implies was established in 2004 as a Women and Children right organization to help women and children find purpose in life through achieving a gender equal and equitable world for Women, Girls and Youth.
